MY RS TO WRX PROJECT

I bought a Rally Blue 98' RS 2.5 Subaru Impreza with a blown motor. The previous owner spun a bearing and kept driving on it until it threw a rod and would not even crank over so the block was completely toasted. My plan was just to buy a new block and fix the motor and just drive it around until I could afford to buy a faster, nicer and newer car. Little did I know I had months of work to do on my RS. My friend actually had a block at his dads shop so I bought that planning to put it in until I found out how much money it was going to cost to rebuild it. I had been looking at a ton of websites when I found out it would be very cool to swap my a WRX motor into my RS. The reason for the swap is because the stock RS 2.5 motors are junk. Every part inside the motor are very weak. That is why the motor blew up in the first place. I started buying all the parts to do the swap to transform my car into a head turning machine. I had to change the motor, wiring harness, ecu, steering wheel, cross-members, transmission, rear differential, the axles, hubs, brakes, rotors, brake calipers, and even the gas tank. This stuff cost about $6,000. When changing to a WRX wiring you have to get the WRX dash so that things works like they are suppose to. This was a lot of work all around! Many of the parts fit like that were made to be there but not the dash and  wiring which was the hardest part. The custom work is what takes up all the labor time. I didn't understand how much this was going to cost me until I got all into it. I have put over ten thousand dollars into this car where it sits, to make it the beast it is. I love this car and have thought about selling it but can't convince myself to do it. Even with the problems and  replacing things all the time I still say everything I have done is well worth it. This is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life and I am very proud to drive it around even though my parents hate it and wish I would sale. They are constantly giving me crap to sale it and buy another car.
